- Is SyberLearning LIVE really interactive? Am I able to ask questions?
|

Yes – it is interactive. During both the lecture and lab portions of the course, an instructor is "with" you. You can ask questions by raising your hand or sending your instructor a "Question Note" alert, and when recognized, your instructor will have you ask your question.
|

- Is the content delivered in a SyberLearning LIVE class the same quality, complexity and depth of a standard Instructor-Led class?
|
|
SyberLearning LIVE is delivered by the same highly-qualified certified instructors using the same quality materials and labs as the Learning Center courses. You will learn just as much as any student attending an Instructor-led class in a Sybase Learning Center.

- What happens after I register?
|
|
Once you are registered, you will receive a Confirmation Email. Approximately three days in advance of the class, you will receive other e-mails with all the information you will need in order to successfully attend your SyberLearning LIVE class.

- What materials do I need in advance to participate in SyberLearning?
|
|
You will need to setup and test your PC for SyberLearning access in advance of the class. For full lecture/lab classes, we will ship the student materials to you. For lecture only classes, you will download the materials to your PC. To learn how to set up for your class, click here.

- Are there any software or system requirements for SyberLearning?
|
|
For all Sybase Products including Adaptive Server Enterprise, Adaptive Server Anywhere, PowerBuilder or PowerDesigner classes, you can use the Sybase Education Remote Virtual PC Lab Environment containing all the required software or you may use an appropriate locally installed version of the software on your PC. If you do not wish to use the Remote Virtual PC Lab Environment, please review the course description for information on what software is required to participate, or visit the Sybase e-Shop for more information on purchasing the appropriate software.

We also strongly recommend that your computer meet or exceed the following requirements:
- Windows NT4 (SP6a), Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP
- 500 MHz processor
- Internet Explorer version 6+; Netscape 4.7+
- Standard sound card
- Headset with integrated microphone
- 256 MB RAM
- 5 MB of free hard disk space for the Participant application installation
- 50 MB of disk space set aside for event materials to be downloaded (additional space as needed for Sybase Products if not using the Virtual PC Lab Environment)
- A monitor with 800 x 600 resolution and High Color (16 bit) display definition
- DSL, Cable Modem, Corporate LAN connection, or other broadband Internet access

| - What kind of network connection (56K, DSL, Broadband, etc...) do I need to participate in SyberLearning LIVE? |

Setting up for your class is easy. Just go to the Student Workplace to learn everything you need about class participation.

| - Can I get help with the lab section? |
|
During labs, not only can you ask questions, but the instructor can guide you through any difficult portions of your lab work.
|
| - What happens if I need to step away from class for a few minutes? |
|
You can give a visual indication in the SyberLearning LIVE virtual classroom tool that you are stepping away from your workstation. However, as with any live class, the instructor will continue while you are away.
